Summary

Mastering Supervision is a short course designed to challenge supervisors to consider the role they play in a learner’s training and how to optimise this to ensure maximum learning for the trainee. Best evidence is translated into practical information which is relevant for supervisors in their daily practice.

There is no-one-size-fits-all for learners; every learner is different and every supervision moment will require a tailored approach. The good news is that we’ve learnt a lot in recent decades about how people learn to deal with complex problems and unpredictability.

This knowledge has shaped the Mastering Supervision course.

Mastering Supervision is accredited with the RACGP and ACRRM for continuing professional development points.

  • Mastering Supervision equips supervisors with the skills to help prepare trainees to be at the expected standard for College exams by providing a framework to help identify and remediate trainees in trouble, with clear structures for difficult conversations.
  • The Supervisor will learn tips and tricks to resolve interpersonal difficulties between trainees and supervisors.
  • All trainees across Australia deserve equitable supervision.

Mastering Supervision can help to achieve this.
