| Suitability for ACRRM registrars Dr MCQ contains an ‘Emergency and Rural Health’ question category specifically developed for ACRRM and Rural registrars. The format of all Dr MCQ questions is a single best answer with clinical stem with 5 answer options, or single best answer extended matching questions. This does vary slightly with the ACRRM question style which is a single best answer with clinical stem and 4 answer options. However, the format is still suitable for question practice, to test knowledge across all areas of general practice, identify areas of weakness and use the Quiz Builder function to assist with study. |
| Suitability for candidates sitting the AMC exam The format of all Dr MCQ questions is a single best answer, the majority of these delivered as a clinical stem with 5 answer options, with a smaller number of single best answer extended matching questions. The AMC exam is delivered with single best answer multiple choice questions with 5 answer options, so the format of the questions equivalent. Dr MCQ is designed to help candidates sitting for their General Practice Fellowship exams, and has been mapped to the Australian Colleges curriculums. The AMC exam focuses on essential medical knowledge involving understanding of disease processes; clinical examination and diagnosis; and investigation, therapy and management. There may be some areas that are outside the scope of general practice that do not feature heavily in Dr MCQ, but may appear in the AMC exam, such as surgery or anaesthetics. Overall though, Dr MCQ is a great resource for question practice for the AMC exam, to test knowledge across all areas of general practice, identify areas of weakness and use the Quiz Builder function to assist with study. |
